Leo Lamelas joins US RaceTronics for the 2020 season

Leo Lamelas announced today that he has signed with US RaceTronics for the 2020 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season. Team principal Shane Seneviratne formed US RaceTronics in 2005 and after success in the 2015 season, Seneviratne refocused the team on the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series. US RaceTronics has since won 5 championships including the ProAM and AM World championships in 2019.  

 

Last year, Lamelas finished 3rd place in the IMSA Prototype Challenge championship with a win in Daytona and a podium at Mid-Ohio. The Brazilian driver began his career in motorsports karting at the age of 7. In 2017, he finished 2nd in the Shifter Kart championship before moving into the IMSA Prototype Challenge. 

 

 The 2020 Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season begins at Road America on August 6th. The Lamborghini season opener will be run along with the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Stadium Super Truck Series and the Trans Am Series.
